Step 1:   Build your knowlege and your Team

This four-part SNAP E&T foundational series will provide community colleges with a broad introduction of the SNAP E&T program and dive into key components such as the students the program serves, how it’s funding mechanism functions, and factors to consider as community colleges begin building capacity for the program. This tool helps Michigan community colleges determine if they are a good fit for the Food Assistance Education and Training Program (SNAP E&T). It provides a framework for finding the optimal role for your program. Locate:   Identify the Michigan Works Agency (MWA) in your area

As you are continuing to learn about the FAE&T Program, it is helpful to know where your MWA is located and explore if your institution has an established relationship at this time. When you decide to become a Plus Provider, connect with your local MWA to communicate your interest. Click locate to get started.

Step 2:   Build College Capacity

Assess:   Complete part two of the Plus Provider Roadmap

This guide will help colleges assess their readiness to become a FAE&T Plus Provider. It outlines the steps to move forward in the process and highlights key steps for community colleges and community-based organizations to apply to FAE&T and prepares them for getting started as a selected provider. This series will empower colleges to better understand the mechanics of what is necessary to build a strong FAE&T program and increase understanding of FAE&T for the state of Michigan. Click prepare to get started.

Connect:   Contact the MWA in your area to express your interest, establish a plan for partnership

Contact the MWA in your area to express your interest in becoming a plus provider. Establishing a strong partnership with your local Michigan Works Agency fosters collaboration and coordination for a well-designed program. Click connect to get started.

 

 

Step 3:   Apply to Bcome a Plus Provider

Apply:   Complete the program application obtained from your local Michigan Works! Agency.

This application should be done in close collaboration with your Michigan Works! Agency. Once the application is complete and submitted, your MWA will respond with next steps.

Submit:   Complete your program budget and submit this and your program application to your Michigan Works! Agency

The program budget should be completed in collaboration with the financial team at your institution. Following its completion, you can share the budget with your MWA for feedback. You can access a sample budget template.

Improve:   Complete part three of the Plus Provider Roadmap can be completed after the program is up and running
