One of the most urgent education issues of our time is ensuring access to excellent mathematics education, but for too many students, math remains a significant barrier to advancement along their educational and career journeys. With support from Strong Start to Finish and the Charles A. Dana Center's Launch Years Initiative, the #MATHTALK team isworking to change that reality in Michigan by expanding dual enrollment opportunities, redesigning support in gateway mathematics courses, and promoting placement practices that help students maintain momentum while getting the support they need to be successful.
Attendees at #MATHTALK will explore the importance of mathematics readiness and supporting students as they travel the math pathways from high school to college.
#MATHTALK is a partnership between the Michigan College Access Network, the Michigan Community College Association, the Michigan Department of Education and the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential.
Registration is free. We encourage K-12 and postsecondary math faculty, advisors and counselors and policymakers to join us for #MATHTALK and stay for more #REALTALK at the Michigan Student Success Summit.
