2025 Student Success Summit - September 18 - 19

Pre-Conference Session: Transforming Dual Enrollment for Equity and Career Pathways

Thursday, September 18, 2025 | 9:00–11:00 AM | Lansing Center

Before the official kickoff of this year’s MCCA Student Success Conference, join national experts from the Community College Research Center (CCRC) for an interactive pre-conference session focused on the Dual Enrollment Equity Pathways (DEEP) Framework.

DEEP is a research-based framework for rethinking dual enrollment as a more equitable on-ramp to college and career success, particularly for students who have been historically underserved and might not otherwise continue their education after high school. Developed by CCRC, DEEP emphasizes the critical role of community colleges in partnering with K-12 systems to design dual enrollment experiences that do not just offer access, but build momentum toward postsecondary credentials of value.

The framework identifies four essential practice areas:

  1. Intentional outreach to underserved students and families.
  2. Strategic course alignment with career-technical associate and bachelor’s degree pathways in high-opportunity fields.
  3. Purposeful advising to help students clarify their interests and develop actionable postsecondary plans.
  4. Instructional excellence and student supports that help learners build confidence and see themselves as college-capable.

Whether your college is just beginning to reexamine its dual enrollment strategy or is seeking ways to deepen impact, this session will provide research insights, practical tools, and opportunities for reflection and collaboration. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with national thought leadership and strengthen your institution’s approach to equitable dual enrollment.
