The Michigan Community College Association (MCCA) champions the use of Open Educational Resources (OER) to enhance student success and equity across Michigan's community colleges. By integrating OER, we empower our members to provide accessible, adaptable, and high-quality educational materials that support student needs for affordable high-quality educational materials. MCCA is committed to fostering innovative teaching and learning practices that align with our mission to strengthen community vitality and economic development through educational excellence.

MCCA's OER Consultants

MCCA has two OER consultants working part-time 

Autumm Caines

Autumm Caines is one of the Michigan Community College Association (MCCA) part-time consultants focusing on Open Educational Resources (OER). Autumm focuses on updating these web pages, coordinating outreach to OER stakeholders, and hosting quarterly community of practice coffee hours. She also collaborates on communications and OER-related materials like our Open Mitten Newsletter. Caines, a first-generation college graduate, holds an MS from The Ohio State University, a BS from Eastern Michigan University, as well as an AA from Oakland Community College. Autumm is also a Lead Instructional Designer at the University of Michigan - Dearborn. 

Stephanie Davis

Stephanie Davis is the Associate Director at the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS), bringing over 25 years of diverse library experience to her role. Her work at MCCA focuses on expanding the course reporting framework to include not only community colleges but also private and publicly funded universities. This initiative aims to broaden the impact of educational resources across higher education institutions. Davis's engagement with Open Educational Resources (OER) began during her tenure in community college librarianship, positioning her as a key advocate for educational resource accessibility. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University, and Masters' degrees in Information Science and Business Administration from the University of Illinois and Spring Arbor University, respectively.
