Northwestern Michigan College leverages the Michigan New Jobs Training Program to provide free training to six regional employers creating new jobs.

Northwestern Michigan College's Board of Trustees signed new Michigan New Jobs Training Program agreements with six regional companies that will create 93 new jobs by 2018. The agreements bring to 297 the number of new jobs created in northwest Michigan since NMC inked its first Michigan New Jobs Training Program agreement.
The six employers include Electro-Optics, a Traverse City manufacturer of semiconductors and other components of laser systems; Hagerty Insurance; Hayes Manufacturing Inc., mechanical power transmission equipment manufacturing; Materne North America, a fruit processing company; Skilled Manufacturing, a Traverse City aircraft and motor vehicle parts manufacturer; an TentCraft Inc., a Traverse City textile bag and canvas mills company.
