Gogebic Community College and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) enter into a partnership.

Posted: 8/18/2012 - 09:16 AM

Gogebic Community College and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) have agreed to enter into a partnership to manage and operate the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park winter downhill ski facility. The partnership provides opportunities for the college to expand its nationally recognized ski are management program, and gives its business-related students access to a real-world model from which to study marketing, business management, human resources, entrepreneurship, and other subjects. Gogebic is currently working with the MEDC, DNR, and state agencies to use this partnership as an opportunity to better target state marketing funds to expand the winter tourism throughout the western Upper Peninsula.
