Michigan had two representatives on the 21st Century Commission, Daniel Phelan (President of Jackson Community College) and Curtis Ivery (Chancellor of Wayne County Community College).  Walter Bumphus, President/CEO of AACC, also announced at the AACC convention this week that in order to work on implementation of the recommendations from the 21st Century report, a taskforce is being convened. Three Michigan representatives have been selected to participate in this national implementation taskforce: Jim Jacobs (President of Macomb Community College), Daniel Phelan (President of Jackson Community College), and Brent Knight (President of Lansing Community College).
