DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: The Dean of Occupational Studies is responsible for the administration and leadership of occupational disciplines and guided pathways. Responsibilities include new program and curriculum development, program review, assessment, sustainability, and vitality; course scheduling, budgeting, and faculty development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as administrative point of contact for occupational program offerings and services
• Work with faculty to ensure overall vitality of programs relative to regional workforce needs and industry standards. Ensure continuous improvement of programs through working with faculty to manage programs that need to be modified, added or deleted.
• Assure regular and systematic program reviews of all occupational disciplines and provide leadership in continuous quality improvement efforts based on review results.
• Lead program sustainability efforts to ensure that metrics are up-to-date and relevant as indicators of internal and external sustainability of programs.
• Develop divisional and discipline goals and enrollment targets in collaboration with other Academic personnel and in alignment with the College’s Strategic Plan.

Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Primarily Monday-Friday typically between 8:00am and 4:30pm. Occasional travel, weekends and evening hours as needed.

Classification: Leadership Association

Annual Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 based on skills, qualifications, and experience

FLSA Status: Salary/Exempt

QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree in business, management, marketing, information technology,
or related field from an accredited college or university required. A minimum of five (5) years of progressively
responsible academic and/or management experience reasonably related to the assignment. Teaching
experience within higher education setting required.
PROFESSIONAL/PERSONAL QUALITIES:
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with faculty and staff at all levels
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications including: Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word
• Able to work within enterprise resource planning systems
• Experience in monitoring project and/or budgets
• Exercises good judgment in the use of and/or management of facilities, equipment and supplies
• Strong work ethic, energetic, sense of urgency and “can-do” attitude
• Team player, able to get along well with others, advocate and exemplify a cooperative approach to problem
solving
• Experience working with or in environments where collective bargaining agreements exist
• Abides by College policies and procedures

SUPERVISON RECEIVED: Reports to the CAO/Vice President of Academic Services
SUPERVISION GIVEN: Provides supervision to the Academic Division Secretaries within the relative academic divisions.
