This individual serves as the Clinical Coordinator for the Michigan Radiologic and Imaging Sciences (MiRIS) Consortium and has administrative, academic and service responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of MiRIS Consortium and the Michigan Community College Association (MCCA). The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the efforts of the academic program and clinical education sites in the education and preparation of students. This individual must demonstrate competence in clinical education, teaching, and curriculum development. The Clinical Coordinator has primary responsibilities to plan, coordinate, facilitate administer, and monitor activities on behalf of the MiRIS programs and in coordination with the program director, academic faculty, and clinical faculty. The Clinical Coordinator serves as a liaison between the MiRIS programs and the clinical education sites as part of their responsibilities. Works in cooperation with the Program Director, to establish clinical site and facility standards, select and evaluate clinical education sites, and facilitate ongoing development of communication with the clinical sites and clinical faculty.


  • A Registered ARRT Technologist with both Radiography and MRI credentials with a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in healthcare, education or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Academic Preparation
  • A Radiographer with a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in healthcare, education or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  • Holds a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration in radiography and MRI or equivalent.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of two years equivalent clinical experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program.
  • Proficient in curriculum development, supervision, evaluation, instruction, and academic advising.

Personal Qualifications

  • Strong written and oral communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology to support instruction.

Physical Demands

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.

 Mental Demands

  • An understanding of and appreciation for the community college philosophy and student population.
  • An interest in working with diverse student populations, who represent a wide range of age, ethnicity, national origin, and ability.
  • A commitment to serve the State of Michigan.
  • Demonstrated initiative and organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform routine and unexpected duties with minimum supervision.
  • High energy level with enthusiasm and interest in helping and supporting students, staff, and the general public.
  • Ability to work under pressure while possessing mature judgment and flexibility in regards to interruptions and schedule changes.
  • Must use good judgment in handling sensitive or difficult situations in a pleasant and professional manner.

Working Conditions

  • Classroom environment in an academic setting may be required.
  • Travel to visit clinical sites will be required.
