Innovating in the New Normal

2013 MCCA Summer Conference
July 25 and 26, 2013, Traverse City Michigan

The MCCA annual conference attracts over 300 Michigan community college presidents and trustees.  The theme of this year's conference is Innovating in the New Normal.  Conference attendees will engage in an active dialogue regarding the key issues and forces impacting community colleges and the imperative for innovation in this dynamic, ever changing environment. 

Keynote Speaker: Jeff Selingo "The Future of Higher Education" Jeff Selingo is the Editor-at-Large at The Chronicle of Higher Education.  A leading authority on higher education worldwide, he writes Next, a regular blog and column for The Chronicle and the Huffington Post, in which he explores innovation.  His work has been honored with awards from the Education Writers Association, Society of Professional Journalists, and the Associated Press, and he was a finalist for the Livingston Award for Young Journalists. He received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ithaca College and a master's degree in government from the Johns Hopkins University. He has been a featured speaker before dozens of national higher-education groups and appears regularly on regional and national radio and television programs, including NPR, PBS, ABC, MSNBC, and CBS. His writing has also appeared in The New York Times and The Washington Post. He is working on a book about the future higher education scheduled for publication in the spring of 2013.
